Open Dialogue: Discussing Religious Trauma
Friday, November 3, 2023 | 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Josey Dining Room
You may be wondering, what is religious trauma? Religious trauma is real and pervasive, leaving many people feeling paralyzed and full of shame, and it is important that our community know that there are tools to begin to unpack it and compassionate therapists who are able to support that process of healing from religious trauma. Attend this Open Dialogue to hear from Suandria Lewis, a secular, client-centered mental health counselor, and life coach, about religious trauma and how to begin the healing process. Recommendations and resources will be shared to support folks. Allies, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend to learn how to better support their friends, students, and advisees. Learn more about the Open Dialogue series here.
